Terms of service

The service

Chartsmith ("we", "us") renders a chart image from data and a chart specification you send, at your direction, and stores that image so you can fetch it from a URL. You ("you", "the customer") pay per rendered chart at the rate published on our pricing page. We are an independent Ounie product.

Account & billing

There is no subscription for this product. Charts are billed in Ounie credits (1 credit = 1¢) from your shared Ounie wallet. The price is reserved before the chart is drawn and settled only when the image has been produced and stored; a failed render refunds the reservation automatically and in full, to the exact credit pools it came from. A specification that cannot produce a chart is refused before any credit is reserved, so it costs nothing. Credits are purchased and managed on ounie.com. Keyless x402 calls are paid per call in USDC on Base and are final once settled on chain.

Your data

The numbers you send are yours. We store the chart specification alongside the rendered image so that the chart can be redrawn and so you can read it back; we do not analyse it, sell it, or use it to train models. Delete a chart and both the stored image and its specification go with it.

Your outputs

As between you and us, you own the charts you render and may use them commercially, with no attribution required. The chart is a rendering of data you supplied — its accuracy is a property of that data, and we make no claim about it.

Acceptable use

Send only data you have the right to send. You will not attempt to discover endpoints we have not documented, bypass credit accounting or rate limits, or resell raw access to the service. Automated access is expected and encouraged — that is what the API keys and the MCP server are for.

Availability

Charts are drawn on our own infrastructure with no third-party rendering provider in the loop, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. If storage is unreachable, the call fails and nothing is charged. Download URLs are signed for 24 hours; re-signing them is free and unlimited for as long as the chart exists on your account. Charts rendered through the keyless x402 rail belong to no account and are swept 30 days after they are created.

No warranty

The service is provided as-is, without warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Refunds

Failed renders refund automatically — the credit reservation is reversed. For anything else, open a support ticket.

Liability

Our liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any loss arising from decisions made on the basis of a chart.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
